There are countless things to be grateful for. Family, friends, good health...today we are thrilled about the first rain in several months! Coconut has been excited about her first rain, and the flock is happily clucking and quacking about being back outdoors after being sheltered in our garage because of the smoke. The showers have been helping clear the toxic air, and is working on our favor against the recent devastating wildfires in both Northern and Southern California.

However, the year has also been extremely difficult for numerous people. The Camp Fire in Northern California is responsible for over 80 deaths, nearly 1000 still unaccounted for, 12,000 destroyed structures, and much of the area has been smothered in toxic air quality for weeks. It’s tempting to just curl under the covers until it’s over, but it’s important to make a point to read peoples’ stories, read articles and be aware how much others need your help.

So I decided to select some sketchbook pieces and sell them for low prices to give 100% of proceeds to the GoFundMe’s Northern California Direct Impact Fund. This fund distributes the money toward several campaigns of people in need. It was important to be able to give some of the money to people directly that have been affected, to avoid a lot of middlemen and waiting since assistance is needed immediately.

A special heartfelt thank you to those that purchased this work. Together we were able to raise $1050.00! It means so much to be able to give back, and I hope you all enjoy the pieces.

There are two remaining paintings that are available for sale for $100 each and the proceeds will be donated as well. If you’re interested, just send me a message!

But for now, know that your support and ongoing kindness has been really wonderful and appreciated. I hope you all have a lovely Thanksgiving weekend, and that you’re all filled with the most delicious of foods in the best of company!

Stay warm, and stay tuned via social media or my newsletter, there will be some extra special discounts this week.
